Where It Lives (habitat)

It is a common understorey tree in woodlands and monsoon vine thicket of wetter areas like springs, creeks and the coast.

Cultural Significance & Uses

You can eat the red fruit when soft. It is also a medicine plant and is good wood for fires.

Flowering And Fruits

Flowers large white carried in clusters. From July-October. Fruits large red with ribs along outside and large seed inside. Fruiting from October to February in the wet season.

What It Looks Like

Large rounded tree 8-12m high. Slightly rough dark grey-brown bark. Large, thick, smooth oval shaped leaves.
